The Athena 2022 will be held at Sandringham Links Golf Club in Cheltenham, Victoria. 

The field will comprise of 12 female players; 9 invited players selected by the WPGA Tour selection committee, 2 digital qualifiers, & 1 NZ representative. Digital qualification for 2 playing spots in The Athena 2022 has been created on the Golf Challenge App and called the Athena Professional Challenge Series. 2 players in the top 10 of the Athena Professional Series Leaderboard at the end of January 2022 will play in the Athena 2022. This is a world-first for golf and runs through November and December 2021.

The event will feature a skills combine competition on Day 1, and will move to a match-play format for Day 2. 

The Athena 2022 will be broadcast LIVE on Foxtel and Kayo (online streaming) from 12:30pm to 4:30pm (AEDT) on each of Saturday, 26 February and Sunday, 27 February.
